Here is an original Epiphone Riviera guitar and OEM hardcase made in 1994 at the Peerless Factory.
In very good condition except a neck repair.
This guitar has the slim nut width, perfect for those who love the slim neck profile of those classic Gibsons & Epiphones of the mid 1960s onwards.
Model: Riviera CH
Number: R94G0200
Made in July 1994, during the classic and now collectable era when the Peerless Factory were making high quality instruments.
Some of the catches on the original case either need their springs adjusted or possibly replacing.
It had a fret level and dress about 20 years ago before being put in the case and stored at my parents soon after, so the frets have had very little play.
Early on in my time of ownership I had the neck professionally repaired after it fell over. The repair is rock solid, I was using heavy 13 gauge strings during this time. This was my main guitar for several years, the neck never gave me any trouble and is definitely stronger and sounding better than before the repair.
The lacquer on the repair has shrunk a little while being left in the case. You can feel it but it’s purely cosmetic and could be smoothed out without too much effort if needed. Apart from this, the guitar is in very good condition with all original except the switch tip. Just needs a new set of strings and you’re ready to go.
This guitar has benefitted from a full professional set up including fret levelling, crowning, dressing and polish before being stored away in a centrally heated house.
Please feel free to come and try the guitar and you’ll see how good it is.
Available for collection from Basingstoke, Hampshire.
