Most of the music gear on eBay comes from private sellers, and quality varies a lot. This page only shows listings from established music retailers. The gear is in stock, the retailer handles shipping and returns, and each of these stores has 99%+ positive feedback across thousands, and in most cases hundreds of thousands, of sales. Retailers use eBay to clear open-box returns, blemished stock and discontinued models, which is where many of the best prices turn up.
Open box usually means the item was returned or used as a display model. It's essentially new, but may be missing the original packaging or have light handling marks. B-stock is gear with a cosmetic blemish, such as a finish flaw or a scuffed panel, that doesn't affect how it works. Depending on the retailer, B-stock shows up on eBay as open box or under a refurbished grade. Refurbished items have been inspected or repaired and graded Excellent, Very Good or Good. Used here means a pre-owned item the retailer bought or took in trade and is reselling itself. Warranty coverage differs by retailer and by brand, so check the listing's return and warranty details before you buy.
The crossed-out price is the retailer's own listed original price, as shown by eBay. Sometimes that's the manufacturer's list price rather than the price the item usually sells for, so a 40% markdown may be closer to 20–25% off what most stores charge.
