ThorpyFx The WOPR Special Project 4 Pedal The WOPR is one of those pedals that started with an artist/friend wanting something to sound a bit different and elevate their sound beyond what we normally offer. Oli Brown (Oli Brown and the Dead Collective, formerly of Raveneye) has been a friend for a while so I thought I could help him out. He initially wanted a Fallout cloud coupled with the silicon Rangemaster-inspired circuit from the Veteran. This combo was absolutely massive sounding and Oli loved it and has used it for years now.Something made me come back to this circuit, but I wanted to take it even further, and here was born the WOPR. The Fallout Cloud was removed and replaced with a new circuit based upon the FC concept but with more aggression, more sizzle, more everything. This with the Rangemaster leaves a trail of sonic devastation in its wake. The name WOPR is a nod to the AI supercomputer in the film Wargames. And like the movie you can choose between playing Noughts and Crosses/Tic/Tac/Toe or Global thermonuclear war.We haven't done any demos of this pedal, its just to risky to the YouTube servers to unleash this pedal on that platform. If you think you can handle it, give it a go. If you cant handle it..... EQD always makes good pedals, and they definitely have some great reverbs. This EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath v3 is no exception. It creates some cool textures and lets you get into the nitty gritty with their controls. Control length of the reverb, sure. Control the spread of the reverb with the "Diffuse" knob, the separation of individual drag lines with "Drag," and the feedback of it all--even better! You can then put an expression pedal to control the drag and get some wild noise options. The "Dampen" knob lets you control some of the shriller possibilities by rolling back the treble. Other possibilities? Put it before your fuzz and dirt to change their tone quite impressively. 
This version 3 also has a mode knob. Here's what EQD says about that:



The Modes control changes the way the Drag control functions. The LED will change colors indicating which mode you are in.








1. Unquantized: Smooth, unquantized response over the operating range
