A beautiful 1997 Gibson Chet Atkins CE, dating from the early production years of this distinctive model developed in collaboration with legendary guitarist Chet Atkins.
Featuring a slim, cutaway body and nylon strings, the Chet Atkins CE was designed to combine the familiar playing feel of a classical guitar with the practicality of an amplified instrument.
Specifications
Condition and maintenance
The guitar has recently returned from a professional luthier, who performed a thorough cleaning, a general setup and a complete inspection of the electronics.
All electronics have been checked and are fully functional.
The instrument shows cosmetic wear consistent with its age and use, including small scratches and marks on the body and neck, some finish discoloration and natural patina on the metal components.
The rear electronics compartment cover has been professionally replaced by the luthier. Some traces of adhesive residue and marks from the previous temporary covering remain visible around the compartment.
These cosmetic details are documented in the photographs and do not affect the instrument’s functionality.
This guitar comes from my father’s private collection. He is a lifelong guitarist and enthusiast who collected instruments over many years.
I am gradually selling part of his collection, which includes classical, acoustic, archtop and electric guitars from a variety of makers and periods.
The guitar comes with its original Gibson hardshell case, shown in the photographs.
Reasonable offers are welcome. I’m not interested in trades.
