An affordable, compact travel guitar—a Höfner classic. What makes this one particularly interesting, however, are the high-quality replacement parts that were retrofitted.
First, there’s the Schaller 456 Fine Tuning Wraparound Bridge in black chrome. This bridge is no longer available in regular stores. It’s highly sought after and commands a high price on the secondhand market because heavy metal icon Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) used it on his “Old Boy” Custom SG.
Also on board is the Seymour Duncan SHPR-1B P-Rail Multivoice pickup. A very interesting and versatile pickup (splitable) that combines a P90 with a rail coil in a single housing.
The wiring here is also quite unusual. It consists of a dual potentiometer that separately controls treble and bass, as well as a three-position rotary switch for various sound settings, though these produce barely noticeable tonal differences.
Good condition—see photos.
P.S.: The installed components may also be sold individually.
