Introduced in 1958 alongside the Explorer, both models initially suffered a major commercial flop. It wasn’t until 1967 that Gibson resumed production of the Flying V, while the Explorer had to wait until 1976! Construction follows the classic recipe, with a mahogany body and neck and a rosewood fingerboard featuring a 12-inch radius, all weighing just 3.22 kg. The guitar is equipped with powerful ceramic-magnet pickups: a 496R in the neck position and a 500T at the bridge, both fitted with added covers. This example dates from a period highly regarded by Gibson enthusiasts: the 1990s, specifically 1992! Sold with its original brown case featuring the era’s iconic pink plush lining.
