For sale is a 1994 Gibson Flying V '67 Reissue, made in the USA and finished in Classic White.
This is a particularly attractive example from a very strong period of Gibson USA production. The guitar remains in fully original configuration and comes complete with its original Gibson hardshell case and factory documentation from 1994.
Over more than 30 years, the Classic White finish has naturally aged into a warm cream tone, giving the guitar a very characteristic vintage look.
Flying V '67 Reissue
The original Flying V was introduced in 1958, but Gibson returned to the model in 1967 with a substantially revised design. The second-generation version featured a mahogany body and neck, large pickguard and updated hardware layout - this later design became the basis for the Flying V '67 Reissue.
This 1994 example follows that classic formula with a mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, large pickguard and the high-output Gibson pickup set strongly associated with this model.
Construction and specifications
Original Gibson 496R / 500T pickups
The guitar retains its factory pickup set:
Both are ceramic humbuckers and among the hotter classic Gibson pickup designs from this period.
The 500T delivers high output, strong low-end response and an aggressive attack, while the 496R retains good definition and clarity at higher gain settings.
This combination suits the Flying V particularly well and gives the guitar the direct, powerful character strongly associated with 1990s Gibson Vs.
Condition
The guitar is in very good condition for a 1994 instrument.
The Classic White finish has naturally aged into a warm cream color while retaining very good gloss.
On the rear of the body there is a subtle rectangular color difference from a sticker that was previously attached there. The difference in shade is minimal and is most noticeable under certain lighting angles.
There are also some light finish checks around the tuner mounting areas on the rear of the headstock, visible in the photos.
Apart from that, the guitar shows only normal minor signs of use consistent with its age. The tips of the V are notably well preserved compared with many older Flying V examples.
The guitar remains in its original configuration, including the pickups, electronics, bridge, tailpiece, tuners and remaining hardware.
Original case and documents
A major advantage of this example is the complete set of original accessories:
The factory inspection paperwork is dated November 21, 1994, adding a very nice piece of documented history to the instrument.
A complete guitar with its original case and surviving factory paperwork is significantly more desirable than an instrument sold on its own.
