ITEM DESCRIPTION: This is a USA-made Fender 60th Diamond Anniversary Stratocaster in the Diamond Anniversary 3-color sunburst and in very nice preowned condition. The guitar shows light signs of use, as it has been played; the typical polish swirls, surface picking marks, and the like. Overall, this axe is in great condition. The neck and frets are in great condition and this axe is my favorite playing Strat. The guitar ships with the silver 60th Anniversary Diamond collector's case. These "Silver Solarium" collector's cases were made with a unique covering process that eventually breaks down, becoming fragile, easily marked up, and sticky. As such, and after years of this case quietly stored away but breaking down, we had the outer case shot with an acrylic clearcoat. That has solved the outside case sticky problem. I always felt that Fender should have offered up a badass replacement case for those who purchased these back in 2006. However, on the other hand, because these cases became such a sticky pain, many Diamond Anniversary owners stripped their cases or trashed them altogether, instead opting for a regular production case. That, in turn, makes surviving Silver Solarium Diamond Anniversary cases very rare. Anyway, this is a great axe and is in excellent condition cosmetically and functionally.
