Epiphone 1802T / ET-270 Electric Guitar

Made in Japan (Matsumoku)

Cherry Red With Original Chipboard Case

Kurt Cobain / Nirvana Connection

Up for sale is a beautiful vintage early 1970s Epiphone 1802T / ET-270 solidbody electric guitar, made in Japan at the legendary Matsumoku factory. Finished in a gorgeous cherry red with a black pickguard, this is a fantastic example of one of Epiphone's more recognizable Japanese-made vintage models.

A Little History:

The Epiphone ET-270 gained a considerable following thanks to Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, who famously played a red ET-270 during the band's early years. Its association with Cobain and Nirvana helped turn what was once an affordable Japanese-made guitar into a collectible piece of alternative rock history.

These early Japanese Epiphones have developed a loyal following among vintage guitar enthusiasts, collectors and players alike.

Condition:

This particular example is in good + overall vintage condition and appears to be completely original including original chipboard case. It even retains its original chrome bridge/tailpiece ashtray cover, a nice feature that is often missing from these guitars. The cover does show some aging on the chrome.

There are no breaks or repairs to note.

Considering this vintage guitar is over 50 years old, it has survived remarkably well. Naturally, there are minor cosmetic imperfections here and there, which may include light scratches, dings, small chips and other marks consistent with its age. Pictures try to detail any imperfections under sunlight.

Recently cleaned and setup with EB Regular Slink 10-46 strings. This Epiphone plays and sounds amazing with a low and fast action!

- Frets show only minor wear.

- No significant buckle rash to mention.

- Neck is straight.

- Truss rod operates exactly as it should.

- All electronics work perfectly including "boost" switch.

- Original pickups and controls are complete and intact.

- Original bridge/tailpiece ashtray cover is present.

- Tremolo arm is original.

- No breaks or repairs to note.

Please review all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the description and accurately represent the guitar's cosmetic condition.

Original Chipboard Case:

The guitar includes its original vintage chipboard case with red interior. The case shows expected wear from age and handling but it still serves its purpose.

Don't miss out on your chance to pick up a great MIJ Vintage piece with tons of real "age given" mojo!
