Epiphone Les Paul Standard Limited Edition 1998 - Silver Sparkle with Factory Bigsby

Up for sale is a rare an ultra vibey 1998 Epiphone Les Paul Standard Limited Edition in a striking Silver Sparkle finish. This nearly 30-year-old Korean-made beauty is all-original and comes equipped with its original factory-installed Epiphone Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. It is nostalgic, incredibly fun to play, and a true standout on any stage, in any studio, or on any wall.

Condition:

This guitar is in great overall condition, earning a solid 8 to 8.5 out of 10.

• Finish Aging: Over the last three decades, the silver sparkle finish has aged slightly to a beautiful, light champagne hue. It is still very much a silver guitar, not to be confused with the gold sparkle finish offered during this era.

• Wear: It has been played but respected. There are a few small dings and some light buckle rash on the back, consistent with honest player wear for its age.

• Scarf Joint Note: The only notable "issue" is entirely cosmetic. The scarf joint seam on the back of the neck can be felt protruding all the way across. This is a common occurrence on these models where the finish has shrunk slightly over time, leaving a tiny lip. Please note that the joint is 100% solid and not delaminating at all. It is purely a tactile artifact of aging wood and finish.

Playability & Sound

The guitar plays great up and down the neck, and the Bigsby functions perfectly, adding excellent expression to your playing. Sonically, it is entirely stock. While these original 90s Epiphone pickups do the job, they aren't the most dynamic by modern standards. This guitar is a perfect platform for a pickup upgrade to truly make it a monster player, though it is ready to rock right out of the case.

This is a fantastic chance to own a rare piece of late-90s Epiphone history that looks incredible under the lights - a great specimen from a fun era in Gibson/Epiphone manufacturing.
