Title: Fender Custom Shop Jaco Pastorius Tribute Fretless Jazz Bass 1999 (Serial
T900210)
Description:
Up for sale is a highly desirable, first-year production 1999 Fender Custom Shop Jaco
Pastorius Tribute Fretless Jazz Bass. Featuring the historic "T"; prefix serial number
(T900210), this instrument was the 210th Jaco Tribute ever built by the Fender Custom
Shop.
This bass features a beautifully figured slab rosewood fingerboard coated in heavy
marine epoxy to perfectly replicate Jaco’s legendary "Bass of Doom"; The vintage-
accurate waterslide headstock decals are entirely intact, save for the typical minor
flaking on the "le" in "electric"—a hallmark of honest aging on an original thin
nitrocellulose Custom Shop finish. The vintage-correct strap button is also present on
the back of the headstock.
Condition Notes:
The bass is in Very Good cosmetic and structural condition. Please note the following
specific wear details from normal play over its 27-year life:
There is very minor finish wear at the base of the neck heel where it meets the
body deck.
There is a small, shallow string indentation in the epoxy coating at the very base
of the fingerboard (around the 21st fret area) from normal string contact. It does
not affect playability or cause any fretless buzz.
This listing is for the bass guitar only. It does not include the original hardshell
case, the chrome pickup/bridge covers, or the paper Certificate of Authenticity
(COA).
Because of the missing accessories, this rare, early-run Custom Shop masterpiece is
priced significantly below market value. It will be packed with professional-grade care
and heavily padded for safe transit. Sold as-is. Please look closely at all photos before
purchasing.
