Revv Amplification Origins
Revv Amplification was founded in 2013 in Saskatoon, Canada, by Dan Trudeau with a focus on high-gain tube designs for contemporary metal players. The company quickly gained attention through direct-to-consumer sales and early prototypes shared online.
Development of the G Series
The Generation series, including the G50, evolved from the original Revv Generator 120 platform, scaling power output while adding MIDI and expanded voicing options. The G50 launched as a more portable 50-watt variant suited for club and studio use, retaining the same preamp topology as higher-wattage siblings.
Notable Artists and Adoption
Revv amps have been adopted by progressive and metal acts including Intervals, Plini, and members of Periphery for their consistent tracking and live reliability. The G50 specifically found favor among players seeking EL34-driven aggression without the full weight of 100-watt heads.
