Moog Brand Origins
Robert Moog founded Moog Music in 1953, pioneering voltage-controlled synthesis with the 1964 Moog Modular and the 1970 Minimoog. The company established the ladder filter and expressive keyboard interface that defined analog synthesis for decades.
Sirin Development
Released in 2016, the Sirin emerged from Moog’s Trumansburg design team as a desktop instrument bridging the Minitaur bass synth and the larger Voyager. It retains the same oscillator and filter architecture while adding an arpeggiator and MIDI control in a smaller chassis.
Notable Users
Artists such as Trent Reznor, Daft Punk session players, and modern electronic acts have incorporated Sirins or closely related Moog desktop units into studio and stage setups for their distinctive analog character.
