About This Listing

Takaminie f400s in excellent to Mint Condition. Truly a 9.2 out of 10. Have never seen one of these or actually any 45 yr old guitar in this type of condition. And I have looked at a lot mostly Takamine and Guilds, and the only reason I'm selling is I bought both this and a Guild 12 string knowing I was only going to be keeping one. Everything about this guitar built in 1981 is pristine except for a little 1/8 of an inch chip on the top left of the headstock which I will show in the picture. No Bowing at the bridge neck is as straight as it was when it was brand new. String height at the 12th fret is perfect once again just like it when it was new. I know what is out there after buying the two 12 strings that I did and this was by far in the best condition 12 string that I looked at. People that know the history of this guitar know about the quote unquote lawsuit which never actually went to lawsuit status but that's what they call the guitar basically Martin sent takamine a cease and desist because the guitar was an exact copy of the 12-string Martins at the time made by the best Japanese luthiers and sounded almost as good at a quarter of the price. Excellent sound with one of the biggest up front presence of any 12 string I've ever played including the guild I'm keeping. just like the Martins that I have played previously which leads to the sell because I'm more in the Taylor /Guild camp.
Guitar was made in Japan at the Takamine factory in June of 1981
Case is not original but fits like a glove I believe it is an epiphone vintage of about the same year.
