A superb vintage Marshall 5518 Integrated Bass System head, made in England by Jim Marshall Products. A brilliant and fairly uncommon compact Marshall bass amp, with classic mid-80s Marshall styling: dark textured covering, brown grille cloth, black corner protectors, rear-mounted controls and the iconic white Marshall logo.
This listing is for the Marshall 5518 head only. The Marshall 1555 bass cabinet shown beneath it is not included, although it is also available separately in our other listings.
The amp has been recently serviced, during which it was dismantled, inspected and cleaned. It is in good working order and appears to be all original, including the internal 8 ohm Celestion speaker. The speaker carries the Celestion date code FU26, dating it to 26 June 1986.
Cosmetically, it presents very nicely for its age, with honest vintage wear throughout. There are various marks, scuffs, small areas of corrosion to the metal parts and general signs of use, but nothing that takes away from its charm. The original covering, corners, handle, grille cloth and logo remain intact and give it a fantastic period Marshall look.
A rare and characterful piece of British Marshall bass amplification — ideal for collectors, studio use, or anyone looking for a compact vintage bass amp with genuine 1980s Marshall appeal.
