Comments:

Fender Japan launched the traditional series in 2017 to replace the older "Classic" and "Japan Exclusive" lines. This model is a homage to the "Golden Era" 1962 Fender Jazz Bass. It captures the era's slimmer nut width, dual single-coil layout, and offset body shape, while updating the electronics and fretboard radius for modern comfort. Unlike historic American 1960s Fenders which used Alder, Japanese Traditional models use a Basswood body. True 1960s basses have a very round 7.25-inch fretboard radius. This modern MIJ version updates that to a 9.5-inch radius, making it significantly easier to play without notes "choking out" when bending strings. The electronics use era-correct Alnico 5 single-coil pickups and an independent Volume/Volume/Tone control layout, preserving the distinct bright, mid-growl snap that made the early Jazz Bass famous.
