About This Listing

Up for sale, a 1987 Fender Blue Flower Telecaster ‘69 vintage reissue model TL69-75 in collector-grade, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, featuring a rare greened-out Blue Flower finish. This “Made in Japan” Telecaster is from Fender’s first-ever reissue of the iconic ‘68/’69 Blue Flower Tele, notable for the correctness, texture, and dimensionality of the Flower-patterned foil beneath the finish.

Tonewoods include a basswood body and a one-piece maple neck, and this TL69-75 weighs 7lbs 9oz. The pair of single coil pickups are focused and articulate, with classic Tele twang at the bridge and a smooth, gutsy chop at the neck. This TL69-75 Blue Flower Telecaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

  • Wood: Maple
  • Shape: Slender C, measuring .810” 1st fret, .900” 12th fret
  • Fretboard: Maple, 7 ¼” vintage-spec radius
  • Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, no wear
  • Scale Length: 25 ½”
  • Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
  • Tuners: Kluson-style Gotoh
  • Serialization: “Made in Japan,” A-prefix (bridge base)
  • Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel, small blue “75” sticker denotes model tier and original price (¥75,000)

Body Specs:

  • Wood: Basswood
  • Pickups: TL-Vintage single coil x2
  • Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector
  • Harness: Untouched solder, full-size Japanese pots date to December, 1987
  • Hardware: Serialized “Pat. Pend” bridge base with steel barrel saddles, flat top knurled knobs
  • Plastics: Clear plexi pickguard, “top hat” switch tip

The clear coat on the Blue Flower finish has greened considerably, furthering the vintage-correct countenance of the finish. There are just a couple small dings on the back and lower bout perimeter of the body, while the smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original faux leather gigbag is included, and both the guitar and gigbag interior have a smokey smell (currently being aired out to minimize).
