The MXR Distortion + from the 1990s is a compact, no-frills overdrive/distortion pedal known for its warm, gritty tone and simple two-knob layout (Output and Distortion). Built around a classic op-amp and germanium diode clipping circuit, it delivers a raw, slightly fuzzy edge that sits somewhere between smooth overdrive and vintage distortion. It became a favorite for players wanting a straightforward, dynamic crunch that responds well to picking attack and guitar volume changes.
