No.122524 RARE Top-of-the-Line YAMAHA SC-1200 ST Japan Vintage Neck-Through Fully Serviced Very Good Condition

YAMAHA SC-1200 ST – Japan Vintage Neck-Through Model

The YAMAHA SC-1200 is a Japan Vintage original electric guitar, representing the top-tier model of the SC series at the time, with an original list price of ¥120,000.
This model features a neck-through construction and a circuit design similar to that used by Brian May, reflecting Yamaha’s distinctive and innovative approach to electric guitar design.

The SC series was introduced in the late 1970s with four models—SC-700, SC-800, SC-1000, and the neck-through SC-1200—each offered in two color variations. In the 1980s, the lineup was fully redesigned into the SC-3000, SC-5000, and SC-7000 series, which finally incorporated a standard tremolo unit, a long-standing request from players. The series later evolved into the SFX line to meet the demands of the emerging Japanese metal scene.
