1972 Yamaha FG-180 – Red Label Nippon Gakki – Made in Japan
Dreadnought-style body, select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck with 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and three-per-side nickel-plated tuners.
Often described as the “poor man’s Martin” – the Yamaha FG 180 possibly started more of the careers of aspiring singer songwriters during the 1970’s than any other guitar. This particular one all original (with exception of a new saddle), and is in great condition considering its 54+ years – there are some very small marks to the body, one to the neck and usual tiny marks to the top of the headstock - this guitar has been used but not abused (see last 7 pictures)
The action is spot on with plenty room left on the saddle - set up with a new set of 12s on board - The guitar comes complete with its original Japanese made hard case.
