“The JH-2 is the first run of the Jimi Hendrix Dunlop Fuzz Face pedal. This pedal came out before the small cased, black Dunlop effects possibly in the early 1980s. The JH-2 sounds amazing with a small hint of an octave on some upper register notes. Cleans up very well on the guitar volume knob while still retaining some slight hair on top of the chords similar to Jimi’s chording on many famous songs.”
“The Fuzz Face was and still is a very popular fuzz pedal, obviously favored by the late Jimi Hendrix. Jimi’s version however, the original version, utilized germanium transistors, which are more or less a smoother sound than the more recent models with silicone transistors. Silicone transistors exhibit a more biting, treble centric tone. The JH-1 and JH-2 models utilize the silicone transistors. The rounded pedal shape was inspired by the cast iron bases on most microphone stands of the day.”
“The JH-2 sounds fantastic, particularly with the fuzz on or below 12 o’clock. A very simple operation, the JH-2 has a volume control and a fuzz control, with two standard 1/4-inch I/O’s and an adapter input. Made in the USA.”
