Up for sale, a 1986 Roland RE-201 Space Echo in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This particular Space Echo was originally sold to the Japanese domestic market, converted for use on 120V USA power and boasting the later two screw lid instead of the side latches used on earlier examples.
One of the most popular and enduring tape echos of all time, the RE-201 has been used on countless stages and in studios worldwide. Everything runs exactly as it should with a low noise floor and lush, detailed repeats. Fully serviced, this Space Echo features a cleaned and lubricated pinch roller, tape heads, bearings, motor, capstan, and tape path. All pots, switches and jacks have been sprayed out, cleaned and exercised, with calibrated trim pots for Level and Intensity.
The faceplate is remarkably well-kept with clean silkscreen graphics. All of the original aluminum skirted knobs are intact, and the chrome hinges are bright and clean too. There's sparingly little wear on the black tolex, and this Space Echo is a studio-worthy, fully functional example.
