Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a excellent sounding 1980's era Audio Technica Pro 5 model dynamic cardioid microphone that has very strong output and set at Low Z making this an excellent choice for singing and broadcasting purposes. It comes with the mic clip and longer cable in which to operate.
It's all there and ready to go.
The mic originally sold for $186.25 USD 40 years ago and that was a steep price as the mic itself was quality and still is.
Pic # 2 shows the specs on the Pro 5X model mic. Like the Pro 5 X, the Pro 5 had the same characteristics for the most part with the only difference being the frequency response. The 1st gen Pro 5 is set at 250 OHMS with a smooth warm tone that will get the job done. A very high quality mic that was made in Japan back when some of the very best models were being manufactured. Japan eventually moved most of their operation to Taiwan but this is the earlier Japanese model and I would compared this to the American made SM58 of that era. Both mics are exceptional models to use for just about any situation.
This obscure Pro 5 hasn't been made in many years but it's still as good or better than most similar models being sold today.
The Pro Series were very rugged in it's construction being an all metal design with an ominous flat black finish that were great for situations where light glare can be a problem.
This Pro 5 would make a excellent karaoke mic due to it's sound, lower cost and ability to take punishment.
The frequency response is 50 - 15,000HZ and is appx 6 1/2 inches tall X 2 inches wide at the globe and very fairly lite weight.
This mic comes with a black plastic model mic clip that fits the mic very well and shows just lite physical wear. Gives a good degree of tilt and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have.
This Pro 5 itself has lite wear on the original ebony finish of the mic but it's free of any dents or fractures. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The Pro 5 has the on / off switch that works perfectly. The front screen is metal and free of any odors or tarnish and virtually free of wear on the black paint but there is subtle deformation. Original inner pop filter was replaced with a new pop filter and is in excellent shape and will last for decades. The Audio Technica label shows no wear and completely legible.
The XLR pins were cleaned to ensure a perfect signal once an XLR cable is attached.
You'll see there is a nice Audio Technica mic cable included that's a longer 24 feet in length and it works perfectly. Looks just as good as the mic and it gives you plenty of room to work with. It has the quality male and female Neautrik XLR end connectors for use with most audio equipment.
Overall I would rate this mic a cosmetic 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10 though some would rate higher.
This mic will certainly impress you for the asking price.
