Based on the stamped logo design, ink typography, and manufacturing details, this cymbal was manufactured during the 1990 to 1993 "Intermediate American K" (IAK) era
• Alloy: This cymbal is crafted from Zildjian B20 cast bronze (80% copper, 20% tin, with traces of silver), processed from raw ingots in Norwell, Massachusetts.
• Hammering & Lathing: By this production era, the cymbals underwent computer-controlled machine hammering to achieve structural consistency while maintaining the complex, dark overtones inherent to the K line. The surface features tight, fine concentric tonal lathing grooves across the bow to control sustain and ensure a fast, explosive crash response.
This is a catch & release for me- I'm building 16" hi hats and went with a lighter, paper thin crash instead. Excellent condition, No keyholing No fleabites No bends, cracks or warping. A beautiful example of the K Dark Thin!
