PRS 509 2023 Black 7.7 lbs

Up for sale is my 2023 PRS 509 in black with a plain maple top. The 509 has been discontinued, and it's still sought after as one of the most versatile guitars PRS has made. Plain-top examples are uncommon, since most 509s were figured tops. This one gives you the same USA Core build and electronics for less than a figured or 10-Top.

Why the 509
The 509 uses five coils in an HSH layout: two humbuckers plus a true middle single coil. A 5-way blade and two mini-toggle coil taps give you 9 distinct sounds, covering full humbucker, single coil, and blended in-between tones. The voicing is balanced, so the volume stays even when you switch between single-coil and humbucker sounds. The 25.25" scale adds snap and clarity, and the Gen III tremolo with Phase III locking tuners stays in tune.
