For sale is a beautiful vintage 1979 Fender Stratocaster with hardtail bridge in the rare color combo of Olympic White and Maple with white plastics. The hardtail bridge adds a tele-like snap and twang to the classic Strat sound. This guitar has a surprisingly slim and fast C-shaped neck carve (reminiscent of Peaveys from the 80s if you’re familiar) and plays smoothly with low action.
This guitar shows no evidence of any cracks, breaks, or repairs and is in very good vintage condition. The finish has aged into a buttercream color and shows the characteristic uneven yellowing of Olympic White in some spots. It has the typical scuffs, scratches, dings, and wear, mostly confined to the back and edges. The frets are in good condition with only very minor wear. The name “DEL VENTURA” has been etched into the pickguard in small letters near the neck heel. I have tried my best to show all of this in the pictures. The pickups were replaced with a very nice set of Lollar Blackface pickups, placed under what may be the original pickup covers (I’m not 100% sure). The knobs and several string ferrules were also replaced. All else is believed to be original as far as I know. The guitar weighs 8lb 14oz.
This guitar will be sold ready to play with a fresh set of 9s. It will ship fully insured, well-packaged in a nice non-original but vintage black tolex hardshell case. Please do not hesitate to message me with any questions you may have or for any additional images you‘d like before ordering as this guitar will be sold as is.
Thank you for your consideration.
