Vintage 1961–1962 Fender Brown Tolex Case – Original Orange Plush Interior.

The hardware is totally functional with a little pop when you bend back the top of case when open. It sounds like wood on wood. Does not seem serious or a problem just weird.

NOTE: a Jaguar is 1 1/2" shorter than a Jazzmaster so the case would be a little long but workable.

Odor free.

Up for sale at Gordy's Music is an exceptionally rare, original pre-CBS Fender Brown Tolex hardshell case from the 1961–1963 era. This case features the correct period-accurate textured brown Tolex exterior, dark brown leather ends with white piping, and a beautiful vibrant orange plush interior. It is the perfect historically correct match to house your investment-grade vintage Jazzmaster/Jaguar.

Condition & Patina

• Hardware: The original latches, hinges, and handle hardware are fully functional and structurally sound. They exhibit a gorgeous, honest vintage patina with natural surface oxidation that gives it an unmistakable pre-CBS look.
• Exterior: The brown Tolex shows honest road wear, scuffs, and edge smoothing consistent with over 60 years of history. The original leather ends remain intact.
• Interior: The orange plush lining is completely intact and retains bright color. As is incredibly common with genuine Victoria Luggage Co. cases from this specific era, there are areas of dark discoloration on the fabric. This is a natural, odorless byproduct of the original internal hide glue aging and bleeding through the fabric over decades.

One day a while back Andre 3000 and his group stopped in to browse as they were playing Masonic Temple that night and right after that we sold an old oil can Morley Wah Vibrato pedal to Credence Clearwater Revival's thee John Fogerty!

We are having and have had a lot of fun here at Gordy's Music! I was just remembering about 35 years ago a tour bus pulled up to our little shop, and who rolls right in and hangs out for an hour? Lenny Kravitz and his entire group, right about the same time I was selling many guitars to and chauffeuring around Dee Dee Ramone who had an apartment a block down from my house.
