Custom set of Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbucker pickups. The neck pickup is from the standard Antiquity Humbucker set and has Alnico II magnets. The bridge pickup is the JB Antiquity Humbucker and has Alnico V magnets. Both pickups are hand wound by the legendary Maricela “MJ” Juarez in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop. Antiquity Humbuckers are premium, Custom Shop-born guitar pickups engineered to perfectly replicate the look, sound, and behavior of original late-1950s Gibson "Patent Applied For" (PAF) Humbuckers. Rather than just copying the original blueprints, Seymour Duncan uses specialized formulas to simulate decades of natural wear. This results in a "broken-in" tone straight out of the box. They are in excellent overall condition for an aged or relic part as shown in the photos. The Seymour Duncan Jazz & JB pickup set is perhaps the most well known and sought after Humbucker pickup set of all time. It was developed for Jeff Beck in the mid 70’s. Despite the urban myth that “JB“ stood for Jeff Beck, it actually stood for Jazz/Blues. The SH-2N Jazz neck pickup mixes incredible clarity with smooth articulation. The SH4-JB bridge pickup is a high output Humbucker known for its tight low end and singing sustain. Together these pickups are a perfect match for Jazz, Rock, and Blues. I love the sound of the JB bridge pickup, especially the Antiquity version. The degaussed magnet results in a warmer, woodier, and rounder tone compared to the standard version. Even though the Jazz neck pickup has a targeted output of appx 7.60k and is both clear and articulate, it does sound “boomy” to my ear in relation to the JB bridge pickup. This is especially noticeable in a Les Paul style guitar that has so much sustain and resonance. After much research I discovered that the neck pickup that comes in the standard Antiquity Humbucker set is basically identical to the Jazz neck pickup, but uses Alnico II magnets instead of the stronger Alnico V magnet that the Jazz pickup has. After pairing the Alnico II Antiqity neck pickup with the JB Antiquity bridge pickup, the sound is much more balanced between the two pickups. Overall it is a much better match than the standard Jazz/JB set and has a better output balance. The Antiquity neck pickup measures 7.26k and has appx 11 inches of lead wire. The Antiquity JB bridge pickup measures 16.63k and it has just under 8 inches of lead wire. There should be just enough lead wire on each pickup to reach their respective volume pots in a Les Paul style guitar which is what they were removed from. These are awesome sounding custom set of matched and aged vintage style pickups. Includes the original aged mounting screws and springs as shown in the photos. The neck pickup has some residual solder on the bottom as it did have a pickup cover that was removed. Email any questions. Will ship to the lowers 48 States ONLY!! THANKS!!
