A really cool homemade copy of a Harmony Stratotone H-44 (who does that?!), built probably in the 1950s .
This one’s a real hillbilly picker.
solid pine(?) neck and body, all carved from one piece. The neck is like a baseball bat, not for small hands. Whopping 1 5/8” nut. Nice Brazilian rosewood fretboard with frets in good shape.
the sound of this thing is really sweet and vintage. I’m no expert but I believe the pickup is a Gibson P-90 from the 40s or so, maybe from a lap steel? Lots of output. Bluesy. Only a volume knob! There is another pot there if you want to hook up a tone control.
Replaced tuners, the originals were probably from a 1930s parlor guitar and crumbling. And dig that crazy gold speckle formica pickguard! The end pin had broken off but there is an awesome thin leather strap Held on with eye hooks.
A real simple rustic early home-built electric guitar, perfect for Rockabilly and country pickin’!
No case but will be well packed
