In January 2017, Roland officially issued a safety advisory regarding the SR-JV80 expansion board series, warning that the original electrolytic capacitors could deteriorate and leak over time, potentially leading to smoke.

Roland advised owners to discontinue using affected boards.

This board has already received the important capacitor replacement, addressing the original aging component identified in Roland’s advisory.

For owners of vintage Roland synthesizers, this maintenance is a significant advantage over purchasing an untouched board with its decades-old original capacitor.
