Schecter Omen Extreme 6 String in Blood Burst

What it’s like

• Body: Mahogany with a figured/quilted maple top. The arched top and deep Blood Burst gloss finish give it a dramatic, high-end appearance. Cream multi-ply binding and black-chrome hardware complete the look.
• Neck: A bolt-on maple neck with Schecter’s Thin “C” profile, designed to feel fast and comfortable for lead playing.
• Fingerboard: Rosewood, with a relatively flat 14-inch radius and 24 extra-jumbo frets. That combination is particularly well suited to bends, fast runs, tapping, and shredding.
• Scale: Standard Fender-style 25.5 inches, with a roughly 42 mm nut width.
• Pickups: Two Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers. They're voiced for a powerful, aggressive sound with plenty of output for distorted rock and metal.
• Coil splitting: The tone control is push/pull, allowing the humbuckers to be split for brighter, more single-coil-like sounds. Combined with the 3-way pickup selector, this gives it considerably more tonal range than a basic dual-humbucker guitar.
• Bridge: Tune-o-matic with string-through-body construction, favoring solid tuning stability, sustain, and a straightforward setup.
• Strings: Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 from the factory.

Sound

The basic character is thick, punchy and aggressive. With the bridge humbucker and distortion, it's naturally at home with metal riffs, hard-rock power chords and lead work. The mahogany body gives it a substantial tonal foundation, while the maple top and Diamond Plus pickups help retain definition.

Pulling the tone knob activates the coil split, giving you a thinner, brighter voice that works better for cleans, blues, funkier passages and lighter rock. It's not going to completely transform into a Strat, but it makes the Omen Extreme-6 much more versatile.

Best suited to:

• Metal and hard rock
• Modern rock
• Shredding/lead guitar
• Players who want a fast neck and 24 frets
