Here for sale we have a Warwick Corvette $$ NT 4-string electric bass guitar in Natural Oil finish. Warwick was founded in 1982 in Germany, and has since developed a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and quality, unique aesthetics, exotic wood selection and distinctive tone. Warwick also operates under carbon neutral principles, purchasing wood from sustainable sources and generating all of its own electricity from waste wood powered boilers, rooftop solar panels and its own natural gas powered plant.
This bass was made in Germany in 2007, and features a neck-thru construction comprising a 3-piece Maple neck/core, Bubinga Wings & a 24 fret Wenge fingerboard. Black hardware is fitted including a Warwick tailpiece & adjustable bridge, 'Just-A-Nut' adjustable nut & sealed tuning machines. The '$$' designation stands for 'Double Buck', of course referring to the twin humbucking Passive MEC pickups installed. These are wired to an on-board active preamp with controls for master volume with push/pull active/passive selection, pickup balance, bass & treble. Each pickup has its own 3-position mini-toggle switch too, allowing series, single & parallel modes to be selected.
The Maple neck plays superbly well, with the Warwick neck profile feeling somewhat like a 'D' shape. The profile is fairly substantial, but with the slightly flattened area to the centre rear encouraging ergonomic thumb positioning, it's easy to reach notes across the register. Paired with generous double-cutaway body design and thru-neck construction, the full range of the instrument is easily accessible. The Maple of the neck is pleasant under the thumb, whilst the Wenge of the fingerboard is characteristic of Warwick and provides a tactile yet durable playing surface. The Bronze Jumbo Extra Hard frets deliver durable and smooth playing surface, perfect for string bending & vibrato techniques.
The Warwick sound is well known for its deep growl, and the tonewood selection helping to secure a reputation amongst players for a versatile yet distinct tone that will stand out from the crowd. There are of course plenty of deep, rumbling lows which will fill out the band mix, whilst the punchy mids and sparkling top end help to create a driving sound and sense of urgency by capturing the attack of your playing. The twin MEC humbucking pickups installed in this guitar build on that reputation & produce a thick & heavy sound, perfect for a wide range of genres & sounds. The on-board controls offer comprehensive tonal options whilst maintaining simple usability without intruding on the playing experience.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The top edge & corners show mild indentation with further, lighter indentation across the rear face. Light scratching to the front face is visible under close scrutiny. This is most notable surrounding the ‘D’ tuning post.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentation is apparent throughout the register, most notably behind frets 2, 6 & 12. These markings are very lightly felt under the thumb but do not impact the playability of the instrument. The rear of the neck show light discoloration, consistent with playwear.
Body: Overall very good condition. Light indentation & scratching is apparent to all aspects of the body when viewed under direct light. This is most notable at the treble side edge & to the centre of the rear face consistent with playwear. A moderate wear mark is present at the bass side of the neck pickup. The satin finish has worn to a light gloss in high contact areas such as the forearm contour.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting is apparent in the early register, with light flattening present throughout. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
