This Taylor 514ce LTD Blackwood is an extremely rare limited-edition special model crafted specifically for NAMM 2022 by the prestigious California-based acoustic guitar forge, combining the proven Grand Auditorium design with a particularly exclusive tonewood combination. While the solid red cedar top is prized for its quick response and warm, open fundamental tone, Tasmanian blackwood—one of the most highly regarded alternatives to brazilian rosewood in terms of tone—provides a rich array of complex overtones, powerful mids, and outstanding definition. Sonically, the combination lies between the warmth of mahogany and the brilliant transparency of koa—ideal for fingerstyle, dynamic strumming, and sophisticated singer-songwriter arrangements.
Another special feature is Taylor’s innovative V-Class Bracing, which, thanks to its unique bracing design, enables exceptionally even vibration, outstanding intonation, and long sustain. Combined with the versatile Grand Auditorium body shape, this results in a remarkably balanced tonal character with impressive projection. The factory-installed Taylor Expression System 2 (ES-2) reproduces the natural sound character dynamically and with rich detail even when amplified, making the guitar equally suitable for both stage and studio.

This guitar is in excellent condition and technically flawless. Visually, it shows only occasional fine wear (see photos). The frets are flawless.
