Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus 2003 - Bourbon Burst Custom Shop Case

This is a downright gorgeous 2003 Les Paul Standard Premium Plus. Definitely one of my fav's here at Garsh's Guitars these days. The story on this one was- I met a guy on Craigslist while I was on vacation at the beach on Cape Cod, ended up at his office across the street from the Boston Garden on our way back north, and next thing you know this was wrapped in blankets and buckled in the middle back seat between the kids, and then there was the dog, with 3 other Gibsons and the luggage in the hatchback.

I met the fellow about a Les Paul Supreme, because I had noticed that the fretboard had no inlays, cool. When we were touring the office on a Sunday just before they were going to move everything, there were 5 Gibsons left. They had been using them as wall art for years. Apparently every time they would close a big contract they would send the guys out to go buy a new cool Gibson. There were 140 at one time. That's a lot of million dollar contracts but more importantly that's a lot of Gibsons! Heheh. When I saw this Les Paul hanging on the wall I walked up to it thinking it must have been a Custom Shop R9. When I turned it over and saw the stamped serial number I was 'impressed'. This is about as R9 as you can get without the 7k price tag. Awesome Custom Shop top, Kluson tuners but with a nice slimmer fast neck. This is a beauty!

Frets have been polished, fretboard triple conditioned with Dunlop 65 oil, set up with D'addario NYXL 10-46's. 9 pounds 1 ounces. Neck measures .803 at the first fret and .867 at the 12th.

The fellow who I got these from said he couldn't get to the case for this one as it was locked in a utility closet. I upgraded the case for it with a nice purple velvet lined Custom Shop case because this Les Paul deserves it.
