There's a reason spruce and East Indian rosewood remain one of the most desirable tonewood combinations in the acoustic guitar world. The spruce top provides clarity, dynamic range and headroom, while the solid East Indian rosewood back and sides contribute powerful lows, rich harmonic complexity and beautifully articulate highs.

Martin's scalloped X-bracing allows the top to respond freely, helping give this GPC-16E-L excellent resonance and sustain while maintaining the note definition that makes the Grand Performance platform so versatile.

Whether you're strumming full chords, playing fingerstyle, accompanying vocals or working farther up the neck, this guitar has the tonal range to handle it.

The Grand Performance body with 000 depth is a particularly smart design for players who want a substantial acoustic voice without the physical size of a dreadnought. The cutaway also provides comfortable access to the upper frets, making this an acoustic that invites you to use the entire fingerboard.

Martin pairs that body with a 25.4" scale length, Modified Low Oval neck and High Performance Taper. The result is a familiar Martin feel with a more contemporary, comfortable playing experience.

For a left-handed guitarist looking for one instrument capable of covering a wide range of playing styles, this combination makes a lot of sense.

One of the important features of this new GPC-16E-L specification is the L.R. Baggs Element pickup system.

The Element system is designed to translate the natural character and dynamics of an acoustic guitar into an amplified setting without getting in the player's way. That makes this Martin equally comfortable at home, in the studio or plugged into a PA or acoustic amplifier onstage.

Combined with the naturally balanced response of the Grand Performance body and the richness of East Indian rosewood, the L.R. Baggs system makes this a genuinely performance-ready Martin rather than simply an acoustic guitar with a pickup added to it.

Left-handed players shouldn't have to settle for a reduced selection when choosing a professional acoustic guitar. This new Martin GPC-16E-L offers the same kind of serious tonewood combination, construction and performance capability that players expect from a premium American-made Martin.

And purchasing a Martin from Northeast Music Center means more than simply finding one online.

We know these instruments, we understand what serious Martin players are looking for, and we're able to personally represent the individual guitar you're considering—not simply a model number sitting in a warehouse.
