Up for sale is an exceptionally clean and increasingly hard-to-find 1994 Rickenbacker 4004 LH:C Left-Handed Bass, serial number A79819 (January 1994 production).

This bass features Rickenbacker's beautiful oil-rubbed natural walnut finish, neck-through maple construction, maple fingerboard, gold hardware, and dual Rickenbacker humbucking pickups. The original warranty registration card identifies this instrument as a 4004 LH:C, making it an early example from the first years of 4004 production.

Left-handed 4004 basses were built in very limited numbers and rarely become available—especially complete with the original hard shell case and factory paperwork.

The neck-through maple construction provides outstanding sustain and resonance, while the walnut body delivers a warm, articulate tone with excellent clarity. The dual humbuckers produce a powerful, quiet signal that works equally well for rock, blues, jazz, country, worship, and modern music.

This bass has been well cared for, plays beautifully, and has never needed any modifications.

Condition

This bass is in excellent overall condition.

The neck is straight, the truss rods function properly, the electronics work perfectly, and the frets show very little wear.

The walnut finish has aged beautifully and displays gorgeous grain throughout. There are only a few light cosmetic signs of careful ownership, including a couple of small dings and minor surface marks that are consistent with a 30+ year-old instrument. Nothing affects playability or structural integrity.

The gold hardware remains in very nice condition, and the instrument has clearly been well maintained.

Overall, this is an outstanding example that has been played respectfully rather than stored away.
