Line 6 Company Origins
Line 6 was founded in 1996 in Calabasas, California, and introduced the first commercially successful digital amp modelers with the AxSys and POD lines that same decade.
Helix Series Launch
The Helix family debuted in 2015 with the flagship Helix Floor and Rack units, followed by the streamlined Helix LT in 2016 that retained the same DSP engine and I/O while removing the expression pedal and some connectivity to lower weight and cost.
Model Evolution and Updates
Firmware updates through 2023 added new amp models, cabinet IR support, and expanded MIDI control, keeping the LT current with the full Helix platform.
Notable Artist Adoption
Artists such as Animals As Leaders guitarist Tosin Abasi and Periphery’s Misha Mansoor have integrated Helix processors into touring rigs for their preset flexibility and realistic high-gain tones.
