Again, another example of my expansive guitar collection, to include 14 Epiphone Elite/Elitist Les Paul's. This 2008(last year of production) Epiphone '57 Gold Top Elitist is Dead Mint. Core Construction:
- Body: Book-matched solid African Mahogany back with a solid Maple cap.
- Note: Unlike standard Epiphones, these have no weight relief (they are solid wood) and use higher-grade timber.
- Neck: 1-piece Quartersawn Mahogany with a "Long Neck Tenon."
- Note: The long tenon extends further into the body, which is a vintage-accurate spec that enthusiasts love for better sustain.
- Neck Profile: 1960s SlimTaperโข profile.
- Fingerboard: Bound "Select" Rosewood with real Mother of Pearl trapezoid inlays.
- Nut: Genuine Bone (1.68" width).
Electronics
- Pickups: Gibson USA Made humbuckers.
- Neck: 50SR (Alnico V).
- Bridge: 60ST (Alnico V).
- Note: These were specifically designed for the Elite series by Gibson and are higher output than standard PAFs, especially in the bridge (approx. 13.5k ohms).

- Bridge: Japanese-made Tune-o-matic bridge with Stopbar tailpiece.
- Truss Rod Cover: 2-ply bell shape with a "Gibson" hot stamp (this was unique to the 2002โ2003 models before they changed to "Elitist").
- Finish: High-gloss hand-rubbed Polyurethane.
