Marshall JMP 2204 Master Model Mk2 Lead 50-Watt Guitar Head 1978 Black

The Marshall JMP 2204 Master Model Mk2 Lead is one of the most iconic high-gain amplifiers ever produced, serving as the direct predecessor to the legendary JCM800 2204. Introduced in the mid-1970s, the 2204 brought Marshall's "Master Volume" circuit to players who wanted saturated British crunch at more manageable volumes than the non-master Plexi models. Its cascading preamp architecture delivers the aggressive upper-mid bite, tight low end, and harmonic-rich overdrive that helped define late ‘70s hard rock and early metal tones.

This 1978 example is housed in a black tolex enclosure and has been tastefully modified for increased flexibility. Additions include a voicing toggle switch, an effects loop, and a rear-mounted Density control which adjusts low-end tightness and saturation response. The amp is in very good condition with cosmetic wear consistent with age and use, mainly some discolored spots and lifting tolex. (See Pics)
