This listing is for a used Mesa Triple Rectifier Solo Head 3-Channel 150-Watt Guitar Amp Head including the original footswitch + 7-pin cable - I donβt recall which specific revision this one is but I want to be clear that this is not the multi-watt version that came out in recent years, but the old school one that is strictly 150w. I trust you already know the specs, so letβs talk about this specific triple rec:
It was the foundation of my live rig for a little over a decade and has seen countless gigs over the span of that time. As a result, it has accrued more than a few small nicks and scrapes in the tolex which can be seen in the pictures provided. While not excessive considering how well traveled it is, I just want to be clear that this amp wonβt look especially pretty in a home or studio environment compared to someone who has not dragged theirs across the country for several years. There is also a patch of light surface rust on the exterior of the transformer which is visible from the rear.
Beyond the aesthetic imperfections, the amp is functional albeit in need of some love to make it βgig-readyβ which I unfortunately have neither the spare funds nor time to commit at present. Below is a rundown of the (4) things this amp needs to come back to life (and why theyβre missing):
1. The fuse needs to be replaced - As pictured, I have the fuse cap for the amp - the fuse just needs to be replaced.
2. The retainer bar is missing - Unfortunately the retainer bar went missing during my last move. I was in the process of diagnosing which tube(s) were bad but had to move before I could finish the process. I removed all the tubes and packed them separately as a safety measure but the retainer bar was lost and the tubes still ended up damaged which is brings me to the next item:
3. There are currently zero tubes in the amp - As you can see from the pictures provided, the amp is currently missing all (6) power tubes, all (3) rectifier tubes, and while the (5) preamp tube shields are set as pictured, there are no preamp tubes in those slots. As previously mentioned, I removed the tubes from the head and separated them for the move but they were damaged in transit. For that reason, youβre gonna have to buy a full set of new tubes for this head. Lastlyβ¦
4. The mounting hardware for the chassis needs to be tightened/reseated - The last item of note is that there is some βplayβ between the chassis and the head shell because the mounting hardware needs to be either tightened, reseated, or (worst case) outright replaced.
With the exception of the full re-tube, the other repairs require a few relatively inexpensive parts (a fuse, an aluminum bar, and possibly some screws) and the time to do it. This amp is in great shape I just want to be as thorough and transparent as possible regarding its current state and what is needed to get it back to 100%. I loved this amp but between the fact that 150 watts is absolute overkill for apartment life, Iβm paring down to an AIO digital setup, and that Iβm moving in 6 weeks so itβs one less thing to pack it just feels like the right time to let it go to a home that has time for it.
I am perfectly happy to drive the amp to any local buyers in the greater Philadelphia region, otherwise I can only offer local pickup and will not entertain any requests for shipping.
