πŸ“ About This Listing

FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT TO JOE'S VINTAGE GUITARS in Mesa, AZ with any questions, or to chat about the instrument.

For your consideration is a stunning, 100% original 1965 Fender Jaguar. This "L-Series" transition-era beauty perfectly captures the evolution of Fender’s top-of-the-line offset. Featuring the classic pearloid dots without the later neck binding, this guitar strikes the perfect balance between Pre-CBS aesthetics and mid-60s refinement.

The Neck & Playability

The neck heel is clearly stamped March 1965, and the guitar features a gorgeous, dark Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. It has been professionally refretted with period-correct wire, giving it a fresh, reliable playing surface while maintaining its vintage integrity. While there is some honest "cowboy chord" board wear in the first few positions, it is purely cosmetic and does not affect the exceptional playability.

Measurements:

  • Nut: 1.61" wide / 0.83" deep
  • 12th Fret: 2.0" wide / 0.97" deep
  • Weight: 8.12 lbs

Condition & Authenticity

This Jaguar is 100% original and features the highly desirable L-Series serial number and "double line" Kluson Deluxe tuners. The finish shows tasteful dings and finish checking consistent with its age, giving it a comfortable, "worn-in" feel that only decades of play can produce. It is a solid, honest example with no modifications or stories.

Tone

This Jaguar delivers the quintessential 1960s surf and indie rock sound. The original pickups are bright and articulate with that signature "chime" and "jangle" the model is famous for. Engaging the "strangle" switch provides that thin, percussive cut that sits perfectly in a mix, while the neck pickup offers a warm, woody roundness thanks to the dense Brazilian Rosewood board. It is highly resonant and captures the "Golden Era" Fender snap perfectly.

Included

  • Original tremolo arm
  • High-quality non-original Fender hardshell case for maximum protection.
  • Original mute hardware if you want to install the mute.
