Here we have a collectable Post CBS era American Strat. What is a post CBS Strat? Dan Smith was tasked with turning around Fender after years of deterioration in the hands of CBS. His leadership marked the beginning of Fender USA going back to the basics of quality over quantity. Though not a builder himself, guitars built during his years of leadership (80-83) are referred to by collectors as Dan Smiths. There is some contention as to what designates a guitar from this era a Dan Smith. This one has had the serial number checked by Long & Macquade and declared to be of the correct (see paperwork in photos) era but I suggest you do your own research.

Either way, the date checks out as 1983 and this one is in fantastic condition for a 40 yr old guitar. The action is beautiful. The neck is smooth and fast with spanky, crystal clear pick ups...and it's TV yellow (the coolest colour for a strat). It comes with the original hard case, Free Flyte trem bar and paperwork. Your chance to own a piece of Fender history for less than the price of a car...or a house!

This is such a nice example. It feels and plays beautiful. The TV Yellow has mellowed into an almost egg yolk color. The neck is a super comfortable C shape. Appr 8.3lbs.
