About This Listing

1995 Martin HD-35 Dreadnought – The Ultimate "Daily Driver" (Pre-Reimagined Specs)

Description:

Think about going to a classic car show. There are always two types of cars. There are the trailer queens—pristine, flawless showpieces that are rolled off a flatbed, stared at from behind a velvet rope, and never actually driven. Then, there is the car that caught your eye in the parking lot. It’s gorgeous, it’s exceptionally well-maintained, but it has a few miles on the odometer because the owner actually fires it up, hits the highway, and drives it home.

This 1995 Martin HD-35 is that second car.

This isn't a museum piece meant to hang on a wall or stay locked in a humidity-controlled vault unseen. This is a working, breathing, usable musician's guitar. It has spent the last 30 years doing exactly what C.F. Martin intended: opening up, maturing, and developing a massive, deep, expressive low-end rumble that you simply cannot get from a brand-new guitar off a showroom shelf.

If you are looking for a sterile, untouched case-queen, this isn’t it. But if you want an absolute powerhouse of a dreadnought that plays like butter and sounds like thunder, keep reading.

The Playing Experience & Maintenance:

  • Ultra-Comfortable Setup: Recently inspected and set up by an authorized Martin service center. The neck is straight, the action is dialed in for comfortable, effortless playability, and it has a completely clean bill of health.
  • Classic 90s Spec: Features the traditional 1 ¹¹/₁₆” nut width favored by bluegrass players and flatpickers for fast, sleek neck movement, paired with the legendary 1/4" scalloped top bracing.
  • Stage-Ready: Equipped with a factory-installed Martin Thinline GoldPlus pickup, so it’s ready for a venue plug-in, a studio mic, or just casual couch playing.

Honest Condition Notes:

Cosmetically, this guitar is in very good, exceptional shape for being three decades old. Because it’s a real, played instrument, it shows minor, honest signs of careful use. There is a small area of typical 90s nitrocellulose lacquer finish delamination (clearly highlighted in the photos) and light fingerboard wear on the lower frets. There are absolutely no cracks, no deep dents, and zero structural repairs. It is solid, stable, and ready for another 30 years.

Uncompromising Shipping Safety:

I know shipping a high-caliber acoustic guitar can cause anxiety. To ensure this beauty arrives safely, it will be packed to strict enthusiast standards:

  • Shipped securely inside a factory Sweetwater acoustic guitar box specifically engineered to protect hardshell cases.
  • String tension will be detuned, and the headstock/body will be padded inside the case to eliminate movement.
  • Fully insured shipping with mandatory signature tracking required.

Why Am I Selling?

I love this guitar, but because of my age, my playing preferences have changed and I am transitioning to smaller OM/000-size body styles. It deserves to go to someone who will continue to drive it, play it, and appreciate a legendary 90s Martin for exactly what it is. Includes the original Martin hardshell case.

Note: Local pickup is welcome in Southeast Pennsylvania. If you want to talk about a local pickup to save on shipping, message me before purchasing.
