For a brief period in the late ‘90s Fender’s budget brand Squire had a premium Vista re-issue series of various Fender models, all now highly collectible guitars. Fender noticed they were being upstaged and ended the Vista series. The Musicmaster model is the one-pickup precursor to the two-pickup Duo-Sonic model. This all-original very good condition Squier-by-Fender Vista series 1997 black gloss finish Musicmaster re-issue electric guitar is a well-made hard-to-find hard-to-sell keeper guitar. It has a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. This guitar has a push/pull coil tap for the single pickup to get either a humbucker or single coil pickup sound. The medium jumbo frets are in great condition, the electronics work well, and the neck is straight. There is surprising very little wear on this 30-year-old guitar, indicating that it was played very little. There are no scratches on the pickup or the back of the guitar, or dings, all of which would be expected if it had been played much at all. It has been in storage since I got it in 2019. No case, but it will be safely shipped in bubble wrap.
