I have a 2023 Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s here. It comes with its factory hard shell case. No paperwork with this one, but I assure you it is unequivocally genuine. This is a lightweight specimen weighing 9 lb 1 oz, which is a sweet spot for an unchambered Les Paul.
Conditionally, this guitar has some typical player wear that I will describe for you.
The body top shows a light sheen of guitar pick strumming above the two pickups. I just pulled the sticker sleeve protector off the pickguard, so the pickguard looks brand new. There is some light surface swirling and minor surface scuffs scattered here and there, but no concentration of any low intensity playwear. There is a small finish chip near the thumb wheel on the bridge, about 3 mm in size. Note that i am including two new tone knobs. The current knobs work fine but the little plastic faceplate that says tone on it has come off.
The body sides/edges show one similar sized small chip in the finish between the output jack and the lower strap button, about 3 mm in size. Beyond that, I see about a handful of minor small surface indentations, about a millimeter or so, that don't break the finish, and just the scattering of light surface playwear with no heavy accumulation or buildup of any pattern playwear.
The body back shows a couple handfuls of surface indentations, with most of them being small, about a millimeter or so, and a couple larger ones that are more like 3 mm. There is soft, scattered surface swirling here and there, but I did not find a concentration of buckle rash. There's one little surface indentation that looks like a line shape, but not a cluster of worming.
The neck shaft contour has just a few micro surface indentations on it that don't break the finish, tiny ones about a millimeter in size. The headstock shows a handful of small chips, about a millimeter in size. The frets, I am happy to report, show no fretwear. They are tall and full. The setup plays fantastic. The guitar has the desirable trait of being able to handle a low action without fret buzz. The electronics are working as they should. The hard shell case is in very good condition.
So this one rates an 8.3/10 and grades as very good. I found a variety of average playwear on this guitar, most notably some small finish chips. But no accumulation of any hideous or ugly heavy pattern playwear. The playwear that it does have is sort of scattered and a low average intensity. It still has a nice, lustrous, attractive look to it, as this is a recent era guitar. The frets and playability are excellent, which is very important in a used guitar. So it plays great.
This is sort of a player priced Les Paul. A high end instrument, structurally and sonically sound, that plays great, has great frets, and has average cosmetic playwear on it.
This model of Les Paul is very comparable to a good Les Paul Standard from the good ole days of the 1990's. It has a nice density to it. It is also the replacement to the popular LP Traditional.
This one has the 60s neck which i would describe as moderately slender. Not a shred neck thin. But a comfortable moderate slender neck.
So there is pretty much no bells and whistles here. Just a well built LP, that is comparable and not out of it's league next to a Historic reissue Les Paul. But at more reasonable price point.
So overall this is a familiar style Les Paul that will appeal to many players wanting that stripped down, return to form incarnation of the Les Paul. It's sounds impressive tonally but also has a familiar tone to it, a return more than a departure.
Note that this listing may come down at anytime as I am a multi-platform seller and do sell locally and on my own Site as well in an effort to keep sales fluid. State sales tax will be charged on Reverb sales when applicable, so factor that in to your purchase.
I will immaculately pack it as well. I use quality shipping boxes, ample tape on all sides. And sufficient bubble wrap filler and bracing inside the box. And always Marked/denoted as fragile. I generally detune guitars 1/2 half step prior to shipment as well if needed.
Thank you for reading and considering!
