―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

The “BTB605MS” features Ibanez’s signature slim neck and a 37-35-inch multiscale design engineered for superior playability.

It features a through-neck construction that combines a 5-piece maple/walnut neck with graphite reinforcement rods. The neck delivers the crisp attack of maple and the firm response of walnut, combined with the long sustain and rich resonance unique to a through-neck design. The back of the neck features a seamless construction that flows smoothly from the body to the headstock, allowing for smooth playing even during phrases that require frequent position changes.

Perhaps its most distinctive feature is the 37-35-inch multi-scale design, with the low B side set at 37 inches and the G side at 35 inches. This design ensures a substantial scale length on the low-string side while allowing the high-string side to feel close to a standard 35-inch scale. Additionally, the fan-shaped fret layout makes fingering easier, particularly near the high frets, making it well-suited for technical phrases.

Another appealing feature is the bright, clear tone characteristic of Ibanez. The guitar is equipped with the original T1 pickup, which delivers a well-balanced sound with tight lows, punchy mids, and clear highs. The attack is well-defined, making it easy for the guitar to cut through and stand out in a band ensemble.

Furthermore, it features a 3-band EQ by Ibanez Custom Electronics. In addition to adjusting Treble, Middle, and Bass, the Mid Frequency Switch allows you to select the center frequency of the midrange from three options: 250 Hz, 450 Hz, and 700 Hz. Rather than simply adjusting the EQ, you can switch the position of the midrange itself, enabling precise tone shaping to suit specific songs and ensembles.

It also features an EQ bypass switch, allowing you to use the bass as a passive instrument by flipping the switch. From aggressive sound shaping with the active EQ to the natural response unique to passive basses, this single instrument offers a wide range of tonal possibilities.

The body is crafted from Okoume, which excels in the low-to-mid frequency range, while the fingerboard is made from Panga Panga, known for its hard wood and clear tonal image. It features medium stainless steel frets, offering a bright tone and high durability.

The bridge is the MR5S model. With a design where each string is independent, it transmits string vibration directly to the body; additionally, the string spacing can be adjusted by moving the saddles left or right. This allows for precise setup adjustments tailored to your playing style and preferences.

The BTB605MS combines the playability of a slim neck, the excellent playability of a 37-35-inch multi-scale neck, and electronics that support a wide range of tone shaping. Based on the bright, clear sound characteristic of Ibanez, this modern 5-string bass allows you to flexibly craft tones to suit any ensemble or genre.
