Weight 7lbs 14.6oz

The Schecter C-1 Exotic Ebony Natural Satin is a mid-to-upper-priced solid-body electric guitar designed around a classic C-1 double-cut shape, with a combination of vintage-voiced pickups and modern playability.

  • Body: Mahogany with an ebony top, giving it the distinctive dark/figured appearance.
  • Neck: Roasted maple/purpleheart, bolt-on construction.
  • Fingerboard: Ebony, with a 14" radius.
  • Frets: 24 X-Jumbo.
  • Neck shape: Schecter Thin C, so it's relatively slim and geared toward fast playing.
  • Scale: 25.5".
  • Pickups: Schecter Diamond '78 at the neck and Diamond '78 Special at the bridge. SSchecter Guitars+1
  • Controls: Volume, tone, 3-way pickup selector, plus a 2-way coil-split switch.
  • Bridge: Wilkinson WVS50IIK tremolo.
  • Tuners: Schecter locking tuners.
  • Finish: Natural Satin.

What does "Diamond '78 Humbucker" mean?

They're Schecter's take on a vintage-style PAF/'70s-inspired humbucker, but with enough output and clarity for heavier music. The guitar can cover clean tones, blues/rock, hard rock and fairly high-gain sounds. The coil-split lets you get a more single-coil-like sound from the humbuckers.

So despite the aggressive Schecter appearance, it's not exclusively a metal guitar.

The important part: how it differs from a typical C-1

This particular C-1 is interesting because you get:

Mahogany + ebony top → warm body response with a bit of added attack
Diamond '78 pickups → vintage-leaning, articulate humbucker sound
Thin C neck + 24 X-Jumbo frets → very shred-friendly
Wilkinson tremolo → vibrato/dive-bomb capability without going to a Floyd Rose
Coil split → more tonal variety
