About This Listing

I am offering a Fender American Standard Stratocaster RW 3TSB from 1997, a manufactured in Corona, California (USA), luxury Stratocaster model featuring a solid alder body, bolt-on maple neck with medium “C” neck profile and 42.8mm nut width, elegant rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets, three wire-wound Fender American Standard singlecoil pickups, high-quality Fender US 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge and Fender Standard cast/sealed tuners in a beautiful 3-Tone Sunburst high-gloss finish in excellent condition, including Fender hardshell case and professional setup with 10-46 Ernie Ball strings.

The Fender American Standard Stratocaster needs no introduction: with its 3-Tone Sunburst finish, it embodies the traditional look of the most iconic guitar design—first produced in 1954—and combines it with high-quality components that make it, in terms of sound, appearance, and playability, a Strat on steroids!

This particularly beautiful 1997 model features the quintessential classic configuration: a bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, paired with a solid alder body and Fender US chrome hardware. Together with the versatile combination of three Fender American Standard single-coil pickups, the guitar delivers a fantastic tonal balance of wiry, warm vintage tones and Strat-style sounds with a bell-like Fender character in the highs. The powerful, well-defined tone fulfills every need of both rhythm and lead guitarists and is ideal for everything from crystal-clear clean tones to slightly gritty, midrange-emphasized vintage blues solos to heavily distorted, modern rock riffs.

A sound sample of this model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.

The neck features a comfortable, medium-width “C” profile, and combined with the low string action and 42.8 mm nut width, this results in incredibly smooth playability—a factor that has undoubtedly played a major role in the guitar achieving such cult status.

Visually, the guitar impresses with its timeless 3-Tone Sunburst look, where the still-shiny high-gloss finish reveals the grain of the alder wood beneath and complements the white plastic parts and the gleaming Fender US chrome hardware perfectly.

In short, this is a superbly preserved, very comfortable to play, and great-sounding vintage Stratocaster that’s well worth the investment!
