About This Listing

Looking to sell a rare and highly sought-after 2013 Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI. This is the original, first-generation reissue from Squier that kicked off the modern Bass VI craze, featuring the highly desirable real rosewood fingerboard (unlike the laurel boards on newer Classic Vibe models).Part guitar, part bass, it is tuned E-to-E (one octave below a standard guitar). It delivers incredible vintage surf, indie rock, and spaghetti-western tones, but functions beautifully as a unique low-end bass instrument.Key Features & Specs:

  • Year: 2013 (First year of the Squier reissue)
  • Fingerboard: Genuine Rosewood with vintage-accurate white block inlays
  • Pickups: Original proprietary Duncan Designed single-coils (punchy and clear)
  • Controls: 3 individual pickup on/off switches + 1 "Strangle" switch (bass cut)
  • Scale Length: 30” Short Scale
  • Bridge: Vintage-style floating tremolo

Condition Notes:

Overall: Very Good physical and functional condition.

Body & Finish: Gloss sunburst finish shows clean with no deep gouges or structural cracks.

Neck: Straight neck, frets in great shape, and headstock face is clean. There is a tiny cosmetic mark on the skunk stripe on the back of the neck (pictured) that does not catch or affect playability. Minor cosmetic wear near the top edge of the nut.

Hardware & Electronics: All switches, control pots, and jack function as intended. Light, normal surface patina on the switch plate screws and bridge hardware from age.

Difference between the Classic Vibe version and this Modified Vintage:

  • Genuine Rosewood Board: Newer Classic Vibe versions use Indian Laurel, which many collectors find dry or pale compared to the dark, original 2013 Rosewood.
  • First-Year Squier Reissue: 2013 is the initial launch year for the model, making it a desirable "first-gen" release.
  • Discontinued Pickup Specs: The original Duncan Designed single-coils are highly regarded for having punchier tone than standard ceramic budget single-coils
