For sale is an awesome set of Gibson Humbuckers, with the convenient quick connect plugs on each. They are open coil, in the zebra pattern, and each comes with four black mounting screws, the correct tension screws and springs, and black flat top rings. They are apparently ‘61 BurstBuckers from a 60s reissue Les Paul.
The ratings can be expected at 7.5–8.0k neck and 8.0–8.5k bridge. I’ve been wanting to build a little jig to test the exact rating with the quick connect, but I haven’t had time.
Why buy from me? I ship fast AND this purchase includes two stickers, and two clear rubber Washer-Style Strap locks! (See last picture) Thanks.
Here’s more info on these pickups from the Gibson website: When it comes to capturing vintage Patent Applied For (PAF) humbucker tone, nothing beats the sound of this Les Paul Standard’s 60s Burstbucker pickups. 1961 happens to be the year Gibson started using Alnico V magnets, which deliver greater touch sensitivity and high-frequency output.
These magnets — along with period-correct unmatched windings on the bobbins — capture the subtle historical variations in true humbucker tone.
Plug into your favorite amp, and experience smooth low-end response, complex midrange crunch, and sweet-sounding highs. These pickups sound great clean or they can be used to push your amp into overdrive for the legendary fat, snarling tone you can only get with a humbucker-equipped Les Paul.
